Every June, millions of Americans celebrate the culture, struggles, and victories of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community during PRIDE month. These celebrations often culminate in a PRIDE parade.
2020 marked 50 years since the Christopher Street Liberation Day March on June 28, 1970
Christopher street is a short walk from the High School of Fashion Industries and as a part of the West Village, has been ‘the’ safe haven for LGBTQ youth for as long as we can remember apart from Harvey Milk High School located in the Village.
To celebrate 5 Decades of PRIDE, we are awarding ONE Home Sewing Machine to any student of any major that demonstrates their love and commitment to the LGBTQ community.
Show us how you contribute, empower and uplift this tribe whether you identify or not as an LGBTQ youth.
If you are an ally, how do you show it?
If you identify, how do you make them proud?
Follow all instructions in the application.
You will be asked to submit required documentation and follow the social media instructions to qualify for the award.
HAVE FUN with your SUBMISSION!
Deadline is JUNE 2021
